About Plumeria Kitchen

My name is Kaori and I started Plumeria Kitchen at my home in Sunnyvale, CA in 2024. I host small baking classes focused on traditional Japanese sweets and Western-style desserts. My goal is to create a relaxed and welcoming space where we can bake together while enjoying tea and conversation. I use organic and safe ingredients and make recipes that are easy to follow. At the end of each class, you can bring home all of your handmade creations to share with someone special, or simply yourself.

ABOUT KAORI

I was born in Kyoto City, Japan, and grew up in Kyoto and Osaka. From a very young age, I discovered my love for baking. I was known for bringing my baked goods to school and sharing them with friends, something that still brings me joy today. I moved to the United States in 2000 and lived in many different states. I studied baking and cake decoration at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City; I also had the opportunity to live in Sydney, Australia, where I deepened my skills by taking cake decorating classes. While living in Virginia, I started a home-based wedding and party cake business. In 2014, I moved to Sunnyvale, California and today, I teach classes with Plumeria Kitchen here, which I now call home.
